6 BEST THAI FOOD FOR NON-VEG LOVERS

Hi viewers, Summer season is on and its the best time to plan for a long holiday trip. Thailand is the best place for Indians to chill. Which ever the country you visit, you will notice these three things in common i.e., air, water and Indians. Yes Indians are found everywhere in this earth; there are 65,000 Indians having Thai citizenship living in Thailand.  Most of the tourists visiting Thailand are from India itself. Tamil, Hindi, Punjabi and Malayalam are the Indian languages used there. When I visited Thailand, I was surprised to see my hotel receptionist and the tourist guard greeting us in 'Malayalam'!

For every 3 restaurants, one will be an Indian restaurant. So, I could get that homely feeling in the country.  But if you are a foodie and a fan of non-veg who love to try different stuffs then you must read this article full. Before that, let me tell you something which you should keep it in your mind when you are in Thailand.

* Buy your own water bottles: In Thailand one should buy his own water bottle in restaurants, but you can expect only in the hotel room you stay. In India it is our practice to serve water to guests in their house, restaurants, hotels etc. But do not expect the same in Thailand. A bottle of water may cost around 50 Thai bahts.
* Pork is the commo food in most of the Thai dishes: This is important as not all non vegetarians are found of pork, most of the Thai cuisine is made from pork but there are substitutes like chicken, fish and egg. So scroll down to see the exciting, mouth watering Thai food

PAD THAI:

Pad Thai is the most tastiest street food I have ever had till now. It is basically rice noodles, flat and ribbon like in shape, stir fried with chicken/egg/pork/fish/tofu/shrimps. I tried with egg and chicken it simply melts in your mouth.

TOM YUM :

Tom yum was the first dish I could try in Thailand. It is a hot and sour soup with all the Thai spices mixed in it. I tried it with minced pork balls and noodles and fried egg on top. It will make a perfect dinner after your long day of travelling. Galangal (Alpinia galanga) is the main spice used in the soup it is a rhizome similar to our ginger but differently aromatic and tasteful. I have a tin of galangal which I use to make other soups at home.
FRIED RICE:
We make varieties of Chinese fried rice, but the fried rice of Thailand is something different which you cannot ignore. Thai fried rice is cooked in slightly different way than our regular fried rice. Egg, meat balls, basil leaves, are fried and mixed with rice (soaked in a table spoon of oyster sauce, soy sauce and red chili sauce) and veggies.  What's the twist is rice used here is Jasmine rice, a stout whitish rice which gives its own aroma and flavor to your recipe. So add a bag of Jasmine rice to your shopping cart too.

CROCODILE:

Crocodile barbecue was the most striking stall in the whole Pattaya town, Disliking the smell I did not find it easy to try it. I have heard from others that crocodile meat tastes similar to chicken with a bit of sweetness. Thus, if you really want to try then go for it.

SEA FOOD:

Variety of sea food are available to taste in Thailand starting from fish to crab, oysters, shrimps, squids and many more. It is best in streets than in any restaurants. I tried squids fried with chili and spices and it will be utterly delicious.

HERBAL TEA:

Thailand is famous for herbal teas. Many locally available herbs, flowers, and spices are used to make traditional teas. I have tasted many types teas in Thailand but each one I tried was different and uniquely flavored. My good advice is taste as many Thai teas as possible and relish them all.

The list of food in Thailand continues without an end so I would better stop it here and let you try them all by yourself. If you find this article helpful then don't forget to comment on the comment box.
